Blake E. Snyder 80, of Bloomsburg, went to be with the Lord, Friday January 11, 2019 at Marie Hall Hospice Danville PA. 17822. He was born December 20, 1938 in Locust Township, a son of the late Blake and Ruth (Rupp) Snyder.
He graduated from Scott Township High School in 1956 and entered the United States Army. He was honorably discharged in 1959. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association. Blake was an active member of the Bloomsburg Christian Church, and a life member of Espy Fire Company. He worked at Kawneer for 38 years.
Blake enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and most of all doing for others. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Blake is survived by his wife the former Martha Taylor, whom he celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary with October 26, 2018, son Brian E. Snyder wife Beth of Berwick, daughter Darla Lee and husband James of Bloomsburg, sister Phyllis Smith of Millville, two brother-in-laws Charles Snyder and Harold Girton, and sister-in-law Nancy Bardo. As well as seven grandchildren; Dr. Nathan Lee and wife Vanessa, Dr. Chadd Lee and wife Kailey, Morgan Hippenstiel husband Thomas, Dana Lee, Erin Lee, Megan Snyder, Jessica Snyder and fiancé Paul Carey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Thomas and Frank, and three sisters; Patricia, Carol, and Dawn.
Services will be Monday January 14, 2019 at 11:00 am at Bloomsburg Christian Church, 107 Deussen Dr, Bloomsburg, PA 17815 with his Pastor, Eric Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be sent to Geisinger Home Health and Hospice, 410 Glenn Ave, Suite 200, Bloomsburg, PA 17815, or the Bloomsburg Christian Church.
Family and friends may send online condolences to The Rodger T. Bunnell Funeral Home, 435 Market St., Bloomsburg is handling arrangements.
